“Release the Epstein Documents”; “Elmo’s” X Account Hacked

According to cinemadrame News Agency, The X (formerly Twitter) page for the character Elmo from the show “Sesame Street” was hacked this past Sunday. The page sent controversial messages to its 670,000 followers, which were deleted after the page was recovered from the hackers.
However, images of these political messages were captured and are being re-shared on the same social network. One of the messages read: “Elmo says all Jews must die. F*** Jews. Donald Trump is Netanyahu’s puppet because his name is in the Epstein documents. Jews control the world and must be exterminated.” In another message, Elmo’s page told Trump: “Release the Epstein documents.”
A spokesperson for Sesame Workshop confirmed the hacking of the page by “an unknown hacker” and stated they are working to “restore full control” of the page.
Jared Moskowitz, a Florida Representative in the U.S. Congress, reacted to the hack, writing: “This is what happens when you defund PBS.” Last week, Trump had attacked PBS and NPR, calling them “worse than CNN and MSNBC.”
The U.S. President had posted strange messages about Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of child trafficking, on his Truth Social platform this Saturday, urging people: “Don’t talk about Epstein.” In another message, he said: “Don’t waste your time and energy on Jeffrey Epstein, who matters to nobody.”
PBS has aired “Sesame Street” since 1969, but in May of this year, it was announced that Netflix would begin streaming the program for child audiences.
The character Elmo, who has always been three and a half years old, first appeared on “Sesame Street” in 1980 and became a regular character five years later.
